The Challenge
The Mumbai Building Repairs & Reconstruction Board (under MHADA) faced significant challenges in managing the complex scrutiny process for vacant tenement allotments. Multiple authorities with varied roles required a platform to streamline application verification, documentation, and approval processes.
Key Objectives:
- Simplify workflows for authorities like Estate Managers, Unit Clerks, and VPs.
- Provide tenants with a transparent and efficient application system.
- Offer robust reporting tools for budget management and ward-wise billing.

We designed and developed an integrated web platform that:
- Facilitates tenant applications for vacant tenement allotments.
- Supports multi-level verification by authorities with tailored workflows.
- Provides a comprehensive dashboard for real-time budget and billing insights
How I Delivered Impact
1. Tenant Application Workflow
We designed an intuitive application process for tenants to
- Apply for Vacant Tenement Allotments with guided forms.
- Upload necessary documents securely.
- Track application status transparently.
2. Authority Workflows
Each authority received a tailored interface with role-specific tasks
- Estate Manager: Review and verify tenant applications.
- Unit Clerk:
- Add application notes.
- Generate offer and possession letters.
- Upload and verify documents.
- DYCO (Deputy CO):
- Review offer letters and documents.
- Transfer applications to the Joint CO.
- Joint CO:
- Verify applications forwarded by DYCO and transfer to CO.
- CO (Chief Officer):
- Final review before passing to VP for approval.
- VP (Vice President):
- Provide final approval and allocate tenements.
3. Centralized Dashboard
The dashboard provided critical insights into financial and operational data:
- Budget Details: Comprehensive reports on the financial year’s balanced vs. consumed budget.
- Tabs for Key Modules:
- eBilling: Ward-wise billing details, including expected, received, dispute, and arrears amounts.
- Transit Camp: Data management for temporary accommodations during reconstruction.
- Reconstruction Tenement (RT): Real-time updates on ongoing projects.
- Resident Executive Engineer: Oversee engineering tasks and workflows.
